Request for reconsideration — local desktop annotation tool (non-commercial R&D)
Hello Meta SAM 3 team,
My previous access request to facebook/sam3 was rejected. I would like to kindly ask for a manual review / permission to reapply.
Intended use
I am developing YOLO Trainer Desktop, a local, offline-capable desktop application for YOLO dataset annotation and training. SAM 3 would be an optional pre-annotation engine inside the app so users can generate draft bounding boxes from text / exemplar / geometric prompts, then manually review and edit labels before training. Weights would be downloaded by the user after HF approval and stored only on their machine (sam3.pt); the app does not redistribute Meta weights.
Affiliation / context
Independent / personal software R&D for a local computer-vision labeling workflow (not a public SaaS that serves the model to third parties).
Compliance
I agree to Meta’s model license and acceptable use policy. Use will be limited to lawful, local annotation assistance; I will not use the model for prohibited applications or redistribute the checkpoints.
