Please consider adopting a recognized open source license for the Pixal3D model weights

Iโ€™d like to suggest considering a recognized open source license for the Pixal3D model weights and related model artifacts.

At the moment, the current license appears to make Pixal3D available under custom terms, with restrictions on commercial or production use. This makes it harder to understand whether the model can be considered genuinely open source or open-weight in the usual sense.

For AI models, licensing clarity is especially important: users need to know whether they can run, study, fine-tune, redistribute, and integrate the model in other projects. Adopting a standard license such as Apache-2.0, MIT, or another recognized open source / open model license would reduce uncertainty and make Pixal3D easier to adopt, cite, build upon, and contribute to.

If the goal is to make Pixal3D broadly useful to the research and developer community, using a recognized open license for the model weights would be a strong step in that direction.
